PIPELINE INSPECTION ROBOTS

Pipelines are used to transport fluids in industries and homes. Over time, these pipelines can get damaged and cause leaks, which can be harmful to the environment. Regular inspections are done to prevent this and save money. In-pipe inspection robots (IPIR) are used for these inspections. They move inside the pipelines and use visual and non-destructive tests to find any issues. There are different types of robots available for this, like wheel-driven, track-driven, and wall-press robots, as well as pipe inspection gauge (PIG) robots and bio-inspired designs.

WORKING PRINCIPLE OF PIPELINE INSPECTION ROBOT

The pipeline inspection robot is a device used to monitor pipelines. It can quickly and accurately detect the entire pipeline at once. The robot has a remote control handle that can adjust the length of the pipeline and place a monitoring camera in an inspection well or other fixed space. This allows technicians to observe the pipeline in real-time.

The robot is equipped with a powerful ultraviolet light source, which helps in detecting the internal structure of the pipeline. It can measure pipelines with a diameter of 200-1500mm and inspect the nozzle structure of each pipeline link in real-time.

The robot can reach a depth of up to 80 meters in ideal conditions. It can display the internal structure, cracks, and blockages of the pipeline accurately. This helps in analyzing the utilization performance and identifying internal defects in the pipeline. The information provided by the robot is useful for maintaining and repairing the pipeline effectively.

What Are Pipe Inspection Robots

Pipe inspection robots are small robots that are used to inspect pipelines and detect any damage or issues. These robots are battery-operated and equipped with CCTV cameras. They can go inside pipelines, even in deep and long ones, to help identify hidden problems without humans having to enter the pipes themselves. This keeps inspectors safe by avoiding direct exposure to the dangers and risks associated with pipeline inspection.
